Lust Over Love (Episode1)

Morning Family! I'm working on a new mini short story series titled "Lust Over Love" that can only be found exclusively on www.OliveCocoMag.com starting this week! It’s been forever since Sidney has had a date and she arrived to this Greek party sponsored by her sorority sisters because they practically begged her to finally get out and have some fun!  Sidney’s friends also told her that they had a guy that they wanted to introduce her to as well and it would be worth her wild to come out!  So Sid put on her tightest shortest dress and paired it with her 6in BCBG heels with the peek-a-boo toe to show off her beautiful pedicure.  Sidney wanted whoever this handsome stranger is to see right off the top that she is not like the common females in the local area who only get their hands done but opt not to keep their feet up.  But right before she grabbed her clutch to head out to meet her friends she thought to herself, “Hold up, what if he’s ugly, or crazy, or both?” With a quick 360 back to the closet Sid grabs her lightweight violet colored floor length Gucci jacket to properly cover up all the goods incase she was dealing with a mudduck, and out the door she went.


Sidney has been at the party now for about 30mins and she had already ran into two of her friends the twins sisters Shanice and Sharnell.  Although Sid loves the twins she’s not as close to them as she is with the other two friends Crystal and Sara who were still M.I.A!  So as they waited the conversation for the most part was on the light side!  The twins stepped out on the dance floor a couple of times to really get loose but Sidney has always been the more reserved out of their group of friends so she kept it close to the table.  Finally a hour later she could see Crystal and Sara making their way through coat check and right then Sid received the text from Sara which read, “Hey Sid me and C are walking in now soon as we make it through coat check we will see you at the table!”

Que Mosely Speaks Exclusively To Olive Coco Magazine!

Good Morning Family Its been a while since my last post and it's a new year now! So first I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and  a big warm welcome back to the Darryl Dwayne Chronicles!  Even-though I've been M.I.A on my blog the past two months as you already know its been with good reason! Whenever I'm absent for an extended amount of time then you know that means I'm busy working hard getting all of my dreams out! I've been re-contracted out to choreograph a new production and I've been busy pushing out great articles for OliveCoco Magazine!

Speaking of OliveCoco Magazine one or our editors recently did an awesome job interviewing the phenomenal musician and performer Que Mosely formerly of Making the Bands Day26.   I got to sit in during the interview and Que answered every question honestly and openly as he could. You actually got to see the side of him that the cameras didn't always show during the taping of the Day26 Making the Band that aired on MTV.

The Black College Experience

Being a college graduate from a HBCU I felt that I had to shed light on all of the positive things that tend to get overlooked when people speak on the topic of Historical Black Colleges!  I also wanted to show that true we may not all agree on everything but that still does not mean we should not find a way to work together and I feel that these pictures I snapped while attending my former university's homecoming weekend events show unity and a sense of love at its best on an HBCU's Campus!

The Color Of Unconditional Love

 Morning Family I know I've been away for a while but its been a super busy fall for me so I do apologize! But as you may already know I have been one of the contributing writers for the "Romance" section in OliveCoco Magazine now for some time.  If you haven't already checked out OliveCoco Magazine you need to do so asap! Follow the link www.OliveCocoMag.com and there you will find a plethora of my other columns.  Today I wanted to share with you one of my most recent columns because I thought this was a great topic and Im interested in hearing you all's thoughts on the topic of Unconditional Love and the many shades of gray that it operates in.


When I say we live in shades of gray what’s the first thing that comes to mind?  Most would say that it means we live in a world where nothing is simply black and white!  Others may say that it simply means that we chose to acknowledge something’s and ignore others and use the shades of gray as a way of justifying our biases!  Then you have those that would say there is no such thing as living in shades of gray everything in life is either black or white!   Well, to answer the question accurately we may need to ask ourselves another question first which might appear initially to be totally unrelated.  This brings me to my follow up question do we, better yet are we capable of loving someone unconditionally?  Now before you answer that question think about it long and hard!  To love unconditionally and all that, that entails is something not to be taken lightly!  From birth we are groomed to love! We come out of the womb yearning to be comforted and to have our presence be acknowledged as to say we matter too.

Thirst For Something Different!

Water is the life source of everything!  Without the physical manifestation of water here on earth nothing could or would survive! Two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen are the building blocks to this dynamic blessing called water!  We humans are a lot like water!  Shoot the majority of our metaphysical makeup is water!  And just like water we are products of our enviorment! We can be physically changed and or manipulated by our envioroments! Water can be poured into and depending on just what you pour into the water that determines rather or not if that water is no longer healthy for people to consume. Are you healthy for others to be around is your presence healthy for others to consume?
